When your bathroom is chilly, it can be very difficult to enjoy any time that you spend in there. Unless you create a hot box in the bathroom, getting out of the shower or bath is nothing to look forward to. Here you'll find a few features to consider adding to your bathroom during your next renovation project.

Heated Flooring

Heated flooring will go a long way in heating up the bathroom entirely. This system is installed underneath the flooring material. A thermostat is used to adjust the temperature of the flooring, so when it's not chilly, or the bathroom isn't being used for a while, the system can be turned off or set at a very low temperature until you want to heat the space up a bit.

The heated flooring will not only heat the floor, but it will heat up the entire room. Heat rises, so as the flooring heats up, the heat will rise and fill the rest of the room with heat.

Space Heater

Space heaters aren't ideal in some situations, and there are many space heaters that should never be used in a wet environment, like a bathroom, but there are some that are perfect for heating a small space without using too much electricity.

Look into wall-mounted ceramic heaters. These small heaters produce quite a bit of heat from a small unit. The unit itself doesn't get super hot, so it won't pose a fire hazard as some units would.

Heat Lights

If you're just looking for a little extra warmth when you get out of the tub or shower, heat lights might be the perfect solution. These lights do require an upgraded lighting box. When you're getting ready to bathe, just flip the switch and the light will begin producing heat very quickly. Just make sure to buy a quality unit because these lights do get very hot and could pose a fire risk if they aren't installed or used properly.

Windows

Do you feel cool air radiating from the windows in the bathroom? You shouldn't be able to feel any drafts coming through the window, nor should the cold temperature extend anywhere beyond the touch of the window pane. Upgrading the window in your bathroom could be the one solution that cures the entire problem if that old window is in bad enough condition.
